Wedge trombone mouthpieces are offered in small and large shank models for Alto, Tenor, and Bass trombone. The Wedge line uses Standard Brand naming based on popular Bach and Schilke models.
The Gianluca Signature line was developed for Gianluca Scipioni of the Gomalan Brass. Gianluca Signature mouthpieces come in different diameters ranging from intermediate between a Bach 2G and 3G rim down to a 5G rim size. Gianluca rims are slightly more subtle and cushioned than the original Wedge line with less lateral dip. They therefore feel more like a regular rim, but may not have as pronounced advantages as the original Wedge trombone rim.
Plastic trombone mouthpieces are machined just like our brass models, but from black Delrin. They are very comfortable, but less slippery feeling than brass. They are very responsive to soft articulation and are darker sounding than brass. The tone can be brightened and more core can be added to the sound by using a brass Tone Modifier sleeve on the shank.
